Personal protective equipment

If operational measures cannot rule out the possibility of employees being exposed to accident and health hazards, suitable "personal protective equipment" (PPE) must be provided and worn by the employees.

This can be the case when receiving goods, transporting and transferring large containers, transporting large containers and trolleys, working in the pot washing area, through hot or corrosive liquids.

There are also hazards (e.g. puncture injuries) during boning, boning and cutting work in meat processing, which require the wearing of suitable body protection (protective aprons, metal ring mesh gloves).
